VTV6 appeared in 2007, with the criteria
of being a youth - television channel, aimed
at young audiences. It broadcasts interactive
programs, attracting young audiences,
directing them to a healthy life.
VTV7 officially aired from January 1,
2016 with the aim of “Education to inspire”.
It broadcasts educational programs by
audience age categories, inspiring learning
of all ages.
At the same time, the regional channels
were reorganized to become the national
channels, including VTV8 for the Central
region and Tay Nguyen, VTV9 for the South.
Determining the impact and spread of
positive information on social life, VTV has
actively and persistently propagated under
the motto “take the positives to repel the
negatives”. There are 10 programs about
good people, good deeds on the VTV
channels, including two programs about
learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology,
morality and style. Many investigative reports
of VTV have promptly detected and warned
about serious problems in society, giving
authorities more information to handle cases,
strengthening people’s belief.
The investigative reports on criminal
activities in Long Bien market, tricks of
smuggling medical waste into Vietnam,
fraudulent loans via app, fake cancer drugs...
have positive effects.
This period marked the outstanding
successes of VFC with many dramas loved by
the audience. The breakthrough development
of the TV series is thanks to the methodical
investment and planning to approach
a professional filmmaking environment
through production cooperation with major
TV stations in the region as well as content
creation strategy tailored to the needs of the
audience. These TV series have a variety of
themes, rich in genres, valuable content and
positive social impacts. Many TV series focus
on exploiting issues related to social life and
the development of the country, themes about
family, young people... The most – watched
dramas are:

VTV’s cultural, artistic and sport programs
are constantly innovating and improving their
quality, meeting the higher demands of the
viewers. The programs continue to reflect
and analyze main issues of cultural and
artistic life, and honor traditional values. After

Singing Festival including

In order to meet the needs of sport
fans, Vietnam Television always makes an
effort to invest in copyright and organizing
production to bring major sport tournaments
to Vietnamese audiences, maintaining the
broadcast of 17 sport news daily on 7 free
channels. Despite difficulties in purchasing
the copyright due to the increasing price of
copyright, VTV has made efforts to negotiate,
invest and organize production to bring
major sports tournaments to Vietnamese
audiences, such as the
World Cup 2018,
Asian U23 2018, AFF Suzuki Cup 2018,
ASEAN Cup 2019,
World Cup 2022...
Vietnam Television always invests in
having a modern and professional technical
infrastructure. Since 2010, the station
has 10 studios from 54m 2 to 650m 2 , a 3D
virtual studio, a digital newsroom allowing
20 reporters to work simultaneously and
broadcast live on 2-channel servers, has
digitized up to 40% of the equipment. After
2010 all the equipment has been digitized.
Setting up the infrastructure, perfecting the
production process, browsing the program,
transferring files, submitting files and
uploading files to the broadcasting system…
are all consistently done through the network.
The period of 2011 - 2020 marks a
fundamental change in Vietnam Television
Center in Giang Vo with a 28-storey building
put into use from 2017, including 26 studios,
49 editing rooms, 24 recording and voice
acting studios, and modern working rooms.
Meanwhile,manyothercentersalsocompleted
successfully, increasing VTV’s production
and broadcasting capacity significantly.
In the period 2015 - 2020, VTV has completed
its technology conversion according to HDTV
standards and gradually converted it to 4K
standard. The program production system is
supplemented and completed in the direction
of modernization with the IP-based production
process; Up to now, VTV has completed
upgrading the entire pre-production system
according to HDTV standards (from 2016)
and 4K to prepare for the transition to 4K
UHDTV technology.
In anticipation of the progressive
trend of science and technology, VTV
has invested in infrastructure to bring the
national program to broadcast digitally
nationwide, implementing the project of
